At Central High School, attendance is a high priority. It is essential that each student maintains regular and punctual daily attendance in all classes. Class attendance is necessary for learning and academic achievement, as well as for developing the habits and skills necessary for success in college and a career. 

• Students must enter and exit through the LaSalle doors.
• Doors open at 7:45 a.m.
• Breakfast is served from 7:45 a.m. - 8:15  a.m.
• Students are dismissed at 2:55 p.m.

The academic day starts at 8:00 AM and ends at 2:55 PM, Monday to Friday. 

Cell Phone Policy

Four-Step Cell Phone Distraction Intervention Protocol

1^st Infraction: Verbal or Non-Verbal Warning

2^nd Infraction: Cell phone is collected until the end of the class session.

3^rd Infraction: Cell phone is collected until the end of the school day.

4^th Final Intervention: The cell phone is collected until a meeting is held with the Parent and Guardian.

It is the expectation of Central's Administration that students dress in a manner that demonstrates the proud legacy of Central High School. We are a school that prides ourselves on being Trailblazers and believe that our students should exhibit that mindset in showing up to school daily dressed in a professional manner. The dress code allows for flexibility while maintaining professionalism and an image of excellence for all Central students.

Our school does not require a uniform. However, students must abide by this dress code:

 General requirements

• Students may be required to wear certain types of clothing, usually for safety reasons, while participating in classes such as physical education, shop, chemistry, etc., or in curricular and extracurricular classes or activities such as band, choir, dance, drama, and theater.
• Students are responsible for keeping themselves and their clothes neat and clean.
• Students may wear their hair in any style they choose.
• Students may wear headdress (such as hats, religious headwear, hoodies, etc.) if it allows the face to be visible to staff and does not interfere with the line of sight of any student or staff.
• Students may wear PPE (masks, gloves) to continue to guard against COVID-19.

 Students May Not Wear

• Styles of clothes that endanger themselves or other students.
• Bedtime attire such as pajamas, undershirts, or undergarments as outerwear.
• Students’ clothing or tattoos may not display statements or pictures that are related to the use of drugs, alcohol, tobacco products, or sex, or that promote hate and/or violence or signify gang affiliations. 
• Attire that may be considered weapons, including but not limited to chain belts or wallet chains.
• Jewelry or similar artifacts that are obscene or may cause disruptions to the educational environment.
• Hair rollers or hair curlers. 
• Flip-flops, house slippers, steel-toe-shoes or boots, or any other type of footwear that could constitute a safety hazard.
